Meet the Moldovan winner of the international “Youth Essay Prize Competition” launched by Expert-Grup

About 80 essays were submitted, and only four finalists were selected: one from Moldova, two from Ukraine and one from Georgia. The jury, chaired by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), said they showed critical thinking and in-depth knowledge of European integration. The textbooks explain relations between the EU and Moldova.

Ambassador Burgstaller stressed practical implementation of reforms, while Lupușor said change will come from young people active in civil society, not from elites in Brussels. Four more prizes of EUR 500 will be awarded in the third call, with a new deadline of 30 June 2018. Essays must be in English, analytical and argumentative, up to 3000 words. The contest is part of a project on the EU Association Agreements and DCFTAs, supported by Sida and implemented by Expert-Grup in Moldova for over two years.
