Press Release: Ranking of Banking Performance in the Republic of Moldova

The ranking rests on indicators of capital adequacy, liquidity, asset quality, profitability and market share in the most important segments. These also show whether a bank's management policy is conservative, focused on high liquidity and minimal risk, or favours more active lending with greater risk. The data are not commercial secrets: they come from banks' published financial reports and the monthly reports compiled by the National Bank of Moldova.

The ranking does not say which banks are “good” or “bad”; it compares performance within the methodology used, against the benchmark of the banking sector as a whole. It may also serve banks as an independent analytical source. An interactive dashboard with the indicators, ranking and methodology will be updated monthly. The ranking is not a guide for deciding where to place savings or raise financing.
