Announcement: Economist Vacancy

Expert-Grup is a think tank specialising in economic and public policy research. As an independent organisation, Expert-Grup reflects the ideals shared by young intellectuals from the Republic of Moldova, who created the institution with the aim of contributing to the development of the country. We position ourselves as a politically and ideologically neutral think tank and do not represent economic, corporate or political interests.

• Nature of the contract: employment contract for a minimum term of one year. Probation period – 3 months;
• Start date: negotiable;
• Place of work: Expert-Grup office (45 Bernardazzi St., Chișinău, Republic of Moldova).

Main duties of the economist:

• Provides assistance and support to the programme director in developing the methodology and analytical tools required for conducting research;
• Participates in developing products and publications under the programme, in accordance with the research plan and the tasks set by the programme director;
• Participates in the public presentation of the products and publications developed under the programme;
• Participates, within the available time and in line with their professional area of expertise, as an economist, in developing other products and publications of the organisation.

To fill this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Studies: a master’s degree in economics. A doctoral degree will be an advantage;
• At least 5 years of experience in implementing consultancy, research and/or monitoring projects in the field of economic policy.
• Analytical skills in the field of economic policy, confirmed by publications, policy documents, economic analyses, etc.;
• In-depth knowledge of economic trends, mechanisms and policies in the Republic of Moldova and the region;
• Teamwork and public communication skills;
• Knowledge of Romanian and English;
• Support for Expert-Grup’s values and priorities.
