Extended deadline: request for proposals – written translation services
The Independent Think Tank “Expert-Grup” announces the extension of the application deadline for the competition to select a company or an individual to provide written translation services from Romanian into English and from English into Romanian.
Field and terminology used: economic, social, public policy.
To familiarise themselves with the terminology, bidders are encouraged to visit the website expert-grup.org to learn about the work of Expert-Grup and the specifics of the materials it publishes.
Period: June – December 2020. The selected persons will be included in the roster of translators for written translations from Romanian into English and vice versa. Translations will be requested as needed, depending on the activities and projects carried out by Expert-Grup.
Minimum requirements for bidders:
- At least 3 years of progressive experience translating similar documents from Romanian into English at government and international organisation level;
- Familiarity with and understanding of legal and macroeconomic terminology (prior experience with such translations);
- Availability to perform translations within short timeframes.
The bid will include:
- A CV indicating two reference contacts;
- Samples of previous work by the candidate (links or documents);
- The registration certificate or licence (for legal entities);
- A financial offer in taxable MDL. The price for 1 page of translation must be indicated for each language. 1 page = 1,800 characters without spaces. The price will include all taxes to be withheld (income tax, medical insurance payments, pension fund).

Bid evaluation criteria:
The submitted files will be evaluated by the selection committee according to the following criteria:
- The candidates’ experience with translations of similar complexity;
- The financial offer.
