How Can Tax Evasion Be Reduced in the Republic of Moldova? Drawing the Line under the First Economic Experiments Held This Year

The Independent Think Tank “Expert-Grup”, in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the experimental economics laboratory in Montpellier, invites you to the presentation of the study “How Can Tax Evasion Be Reduced in the Republic of Moldova”, which will present the findings of the first economic experiments held in the Republic of Moldova this year. The launch event will take place on 28 November, starting at 14:00, in the hall

In addition to presenting policy recommendations for reducing tax evasion in the Republic of Moldova, the experts will also present a comparative analysis of the results of the economic experiments conducted in the Republic of Moldova and France, to show how the psychological factors behind respondents’ decisions differ.

Although it is a novelty for the Republic of Moldova, in European Union member states economic experiments are an alternative source of data underpinning the studies needed for public policy making, and French public authorities often co-finance the organisation of economic experiments, because they help them better understand how people behave in certain situations and how they make decisions.

The event is organised within the project “Transforming Europeanisation from an Inspirational into an Operational Process by Strengthening Interactions between Independent Policy Think Tanks in Moldova and the European Union”, financed by the Open Society Foundation.
