Launch Event for the Study “Demographic Profile of Chișinău Municipality”

The purpose of the event is to launch the study “Demographic Profile of Chișinău Municipality”  and to present to local authorities disaggregated data on demographic changes in Chișinău municipality, so that the authorities can develop people-centred demographic policies adjusted to people’s real needs. The event will present measures for turning the demographic crisis into an opportunity, in order to support the country’s development and promote demographic resilience in Moldova.

The analysis was carried out as part  of the UNFPA Demographic Resilience Programme for Europe and Central Asia, launched by the United Nations Population Fund in 2021 with the aim of supporting and developing the capacities of countries in the region, including the Republic of Moldova, to develop evidence-based policies and programmes for society and the population, in order to respond to demographic changes and strengthen human capital. 

Representatives of local public authorities, relevant organisations and state institutions, and experts in the field are expected to attend. Working language:  Romanian.
