Presentation event for the study “An Alternative Vision for Combating Tax Evasion and Promoting Tax Compliance in Moldova Based on Behavioural Experiments”

The experts will present the results of the economic experiments organised in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the Laboratory of Experimental Economics in Montpellier (France), which analysed the behavioural factors that explain tax evasion or tax compliance among the population, the anticipated impact of increasing/decreasing penalties versus increasing/decreasing the intensity of tax audits, the role of positive and negative information about tax evasion and compliance, and the impact of encouraging anonymous whistleblowers to report observed tax evasion (whistleblowing). Based on the findings of these economic experiments, the experts will formulate a set of recommendations for making the fight against tax evasion more effective and for promoting tax compliance.

The working language of the conference will be Romanian.
