Presentation of the Financial Monitor: Five Objectives for the Development of the National Financial System

Issue No. 9 of the Financial Monitor focuses on the directions for developing and modernising the domestic financial system. Thus, on the basis of identified constraints, 5 development objectives are proposed, together with a set of actions aimed at transforming the financial system into a catalyst for economic growth. First, they target strengthening the capacity of financial institutions to meet the requirements and expectations of the business environment, the government or households with regard to capital mobilisation. The emphasis is also placed on eradicating the informal economy by increasing financial inclusion, improving payment systems and enhancing the financial skills of the population. Last but not least, attention is directed to the fact that the financial system must become a solid source of protection for consumers of financial services, a factor of stability for public finances and a generator of credibility for the international environment.
