“Financial Education Camp” – an initiative connecting young people across Moldova

The National Bank of Moldova announces that registration is open for the 6th edition of the “Financial Education Camp”, organised online in partnership with the Independent Think Tank “Expert-Grup” on 4–7 August 2025. The event is intended for young people aged 17 and over and offers an interactive and accessible introduction to basic financial concepts.

“We want all young people in the Republic of Moldova, regardless of where they come from, big cities or remote villages, to have access to quality financial information. That is why we are organising this camp online, to reach every one of them. Financial education should not be a privilege, but a right. Through this initiative, we offer young people the chance to build a solid future, based on confidence, responsible decisions and a good understanding of the economic world. By investing in their knowledge today, we contribute to a society better prepared for tomorrow’s challenges”, stresses the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu.

“Financial education is a fundamental element for ensuring individual well-being, as well as that of the economy in general, because it allows better-informed financial decisions to be made - whether it concerns health insurance, goods, taking out a consumer or mortgage loan, opening a deposit or an investment account, or many other decisions that we all make throughout our lives. It is precisely for this reason that we are fully committed to promoting financial education among young people, as well as the entire population”, says Adrian Lupușor, Executive Director of the Independent Think Tank “Expert-Grup”.

The camp programme will include four 90-minute sessions focused on current topics: how the financial system works; the benefits of the Republic of Moldova joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA); the steps for starting your own business; trends in innovative payments, etc.

Participation is free of charge, and the sessions will be held in Romanian via the ZOOM platform. At the end, participants who attend all the sessions will receive certificates of participation.

Registration is online, by completing the participation form by 27 July 2025 (inclusive). Connection details will be sent by e-mail to the address indicated in the form.

Launched in 2020 as part of the “Dă sens banilor” project, the camp is a joint initiative of the National Bank of Moldova and the Independent Think Tank “Expert-Grup”, which aims to support young people in making responsible financial decisions adapted to the current economic context.
