Workshop: Sectoral Expenditure Strategy in Education 2015-2017

On 11 September 2014, EXPERT-GRUP organised an information workshop on the Sectoral Expenditure Strategy in Education 2015-2017. The Round Table was organised within the project “The Budget Process in the Republic of Moldova: Monitoring Transparency and Promoting Public Oversight”, implemented with the financial support of the Soros Foundation-Moldova.

The purpose of the Round Table was to promote the participation of interested persons in the budget process in Education, specifically at the stage of drawing up the Medium-Term Budgetary Framework. This stage is particularly important for the budget process, especially because new policies can be introduced at this stage and the alignment of budget projections with sectoral and government objectives is ensured. More than 50 people took part in the Round Table, representing the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the General Directorates for Education, Youth and Sport of Chișinău municipality, the district education departments and civil society.

We have also prepared a summary of the event, setting out the opinions, recommendations and conclusions expressed during the discussions, in the hope that they will be put to use by the institutions concerned.
